IUPAC nomenclature gives every organic compound a unique systematic name. Take 2-methylpropane: the parent chain is propane (three carbons), with a methyl group at carbon two. This systematic naming unambiguously identifies structures across languages and disciplines.

2025 Standard Atomic Weights revision is out. Ten elements got updated intervals from improved isotope measurements. Boron is now [10.806, 10.821] not a fixed value — natural isotope variation is real and matters across geochemistry and nutrition.
