Colorless liquid liquid. Melting point 14°C, boiling point 245.2°C, 165°C (10.67kPa), 137°C (3.33kPa), 128-130°C (2.67kPa), 116°C (1.67kPa), relative density 1.1094 (20/20°C), refractive index 1.534. Easily soluble in alcohol, ether and sodium hydroxide solution, slightly soluble in water. It is stable in acid or alkali, has an aromatic odor, and has a burning smell.

Ethylene glycol phenyl ether (KL-EPH) is a typical high-boiling organic solvent, which has been widely used in Europe and the United States as early as the 1970s. It is a colorless and transparent liquid with slightly rose fragrance, low volatility and high boiling point. Because of its compatibility with many organic solvents and strong permeability, it is more comprehensive than isophorone (commonly known as 783), DBE, and benzyl alcohol. Outstanding performance, can be used instead of full performance. KL-EPH has excellent solubility for various resins such as acrylic resin, nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, epoxy resin, alkyd resin, and phenoxy resin. It can be miscible with alcohol and ether. It is commonly known as " Universal solvent".
Used as a gas chromatographic stationary liquid. It can be used as a water-based coating and ink film forming aid, perfume fixative, ink smoothing agent, medicinal antiseptic fungicide, electronic cleaning agent and ink slow-drying agent, etc.
